ORDB.org Sending out False SPAM Positives

Posted March 26th @ 12:26 pm by Patrick

At noon today (Eastern Standard Time), the long dead ORDB spam identification system began returning false positives as a way to get sleeping users to remove the ORDB query from their spam filters. The net effect: all mail is blocked on servers still configured to use the ORDB service, which was taken out of commission in December of 2006.

If you receive an e-mail about our domain being on a spam list, this is a false positive being issued by ORDB.  This is not an issue with our servers - it is an issue with the server where the e-mail address you sent your message to resides.  More than likely these companies have already received notification and are in the process of fixing this.

None of South Valley Internet’s domains or e-mails are blacklisted.
